Interview etiquette
1: Time
Do not be late.
The best way is you should be early 10 to 15 minutes at the interview location
and familiar with the environment.
2: Polite
Interviewers
should be polite to everyone in the company. Not only polite to the recruiter,
and secretary, also should be polite to other people.
3: Decent
Sit politely.
After entered the room, all actions should be according to the instructions of
the recruiter to do, don't be stiff or too self-effacing.
To discuss the next
appointment time with your potential employer if you are required for the
second interview. To meet the next appointment, you have to avoid two extremes.
The one is too easy-going, like 'any time is fine'. It would reflect that they
are nothing to do. The other is too fast to say a time, without a second
thought. The proper way is: think about it first, and then suggest one or two
alternative time, do not choose a time that cannot be changed, leave room to
each other.
After the
interview, you should end, like 'Thanks for your time', 'Thank
you very much' or 'Nice to talk to you' but don't say too
much.
4: Body
language
Don't take too many
gestures because it can become a communication barrier.
5: Eye contact
Your eyes will be
staring at each other. But don't look by glassy-eyed sight because it might
make another party not comfortable with it. If there are more than one people
in a room, you should scan the others when you speak, in order to show respect.
6: Be an Active
Listener
You should listen
with smile and nod your head as a sign of understand.
Though politeness
is good, but remembers keep natural. Do not polite too much but also cannot too
casually.
